Advanced Micro Devices ($AMD+WL) has signaled a substantial expansion of its total addressable market (TAM) forecast, projecting it could reach between $2 trillion and $3 trillion by 2030. This upward revision, particularly the increase to the upper range of $3 trillion, has garnered investor attention. Previously, $AMD+WL had indicated a TAM of approximately $2 trillion by 2030, with the latest update effectively adding as much as a trillion dollars to that outlook.

Following Chief Financial Officer Jean Hu's remarks at Citi's Global TMT Conference on September 8, 2026, $AMD+WL shares saw an approximate 6% increase on the day of the announcement and continued to climb the following day. As of this writing, the stock is trading near $521, representing a roughly 9% gain since Hu's statement. This move, however, leaves the stock approximately 11% below its 52-week high of $584.73.

The company's market value currently stands near $870 billion. The updated forecast implies that the market is pricing in a significant portion of $AMD+WL's potential market share capture in the coming years. Data center products were a major contributor to $AMD+WL's recent financial performance, supplying 58% of the company's record $11.5 billion in second-quarter revenue, a segment that grew 50% year over year.

Impact on Related Tickers: While $AMD+WL is expanding its market outlook, competitors in the semiconductor and AI chip sectors, such as NVIDIA ($NVDA+WL), Microsoft ($MSFT+WL), and Apple ($AAPL+WL), will continue to be closely watched for their own market share dynamics and technological advancements.
